Your Kid's Favourite Frostings:
First Prepare the cakes/muffins and select any frosting you desire to garnish any of the muffins.To begin the frosting, first prepare the simple basic frosting or the vanilla butter cream frosting. Then divide into portions in different bowls and mix different colours as per your requirement.Remember to use different spatulas or butter knives to spread the frostings of different colours; otherwise the colours will blend and create chaos.Once you are confident with the basic frosting, move on to more elaborate frostings like the chocolate and use it over chocolate muffins.Spread the frostings evenly and leave in the fridge for at least 10 minutes before serving.Here are a few frosting recipes which will provide you with step by step decoration of muffins.1.Happy Mr.Sun:
Ingredients:
A muffin, a few drops yellow colour, 5-6 tbsp vanilla icing, 2 "GEMS", 1 jelly candy stick, a piece of dried mango, 7-8 ice cream cones.
Method:
Mix a few drops of yellow colour in 5-6 tbsp vanilla icing and spread over a muffin.Use 2 "GEMS" for the eyes.Cut a thin green jelly candy stick for the nose.To form the mouth cut a half-moon shape piece from a dry mango.Cut the cones into small pieces and dip each of the cone in the frosting and attach around the outer edge.
2.The Yellow Duckling:
Ingredients:
Vanilla Icing/simple icing, yellow colour, a muffin, a small cookie, small-sized candy.
Method:
Mix yellow colour with the vanilla/simple icing and spread over the muffin.Leave the muffin in the fridge for the icing to set for about 10 minutes.Coat a small cookie with the same icing and place in the centre of the muffin.Use small-sized candy for the eyes.
3.The Caterpillar:
Method:
Colour 2 tbsp of icing with 2 drops of green colour.Spread over the muffin and leave in the fridge to set.Then arrange the "GEMS" in a row one beside the other like a snake on top of the muffin.Use a cookie to make a face with the small fennel-sized candy for the eyes, nosew and mouth.Finish with a few mint or basil leaves to make it look natural.
4.The Aquarium:
Method:
Colour 4 tbsp of icing with 4 drops of blue colour.Spread over the muffin.Place star fish and other fish made out of jelly.Use the white mint candy for the bubbles(optional).
